건물 내부의 Carpentry

교회당 건축의 다음 단계로 목공에 관련된 일(Carpentry & Trimming)을 시작하려고 계획하고 있습니다. 목수가 해야하는 일 중에는 건물 내부 각방 및 본당에 문을 설치하고 필요한 Moulding (내부 구조의 테두리를 장식하는 조형 목재)을 부착하는 작업을 비롯하여, 부엌/화장실/중이층(Mezzanine)/복도등에 설치될 Cabinet/선반들을 만드는 일들을 포함합니다.

목수의 일은 광범위하며 또한 건물의 구석 구석 세밀한 부분까지 실내가 아름답게 보이도록 신경을 써야하는 가장 중요한 일이라 할 수 있습니다. 따라서 우리교회가 꼼꼼하게 감독하는일을 잘 해야하며 많은 노력과 시간이 소요됩니다.

오늘 Hector와 Eddie Espindola 두 형제를 목재 상점 (Better Living Inc.)에서 만나 우선 사용할 합판과 Moulding을 결정한 후, 교회 건물내 부엌 및 상하층의 필요한 구조들을 측정했습니다. 이제 곧 두 Espindola 형제로 부터 부분적인 견적 하나를 받을 계획인데, 작업이 광범위하여 부분적으로 일을 진행할 계획입니다.

Hector는 매우 기술이 좋은 목수임을 확인할 수 있습니다. 그러나 이번에 처음으로 수행하는 일의 Quality를 Test한 후 다음 Project를 계속 할지를 결정하려고 합니다.

하나님의 은혜가운데 Hector/Eddie Espindola 형제가 성실하게 (저렴한 견적으로) 우수한 목수의 일을 성취하도록 기도드립시다.

상업용 Gas Griddle (가스 철판) 설치를 위하여...

새 교회 건물 부엌에 설치하려고 계획중인 Gas Griddle (가스 철판)을 구입하려고 노력했으나, 적절한 "Residential" Gas Griddle은 찾기가 거의 불가능 하다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 그러므로 "Commercial" Gas Griddle을 사용해야 하는데 그렇게되면 Albemarle County의 규정에 의하여 "Commercial" Fire Suppression System을 환풍장치와 병행해서 설치해야 합니다.

비용이 많이드는 Fire Suppression System을 면제받기위하여, 오늘 County에 아래의 Petition 편지와 함께 우리교회가 구입하길 원하는 상업용 Gas Griddle, Fire Extinguisher 및 환풍장치에 관련된 Data를 제출했습니다. 통과되기가 힘든 Petition이니 만큼 하나님께 이를 위하여 기도드립시다.

Dear Mr. Schlothauer and Bates:

We plan to purchase a “Medium-Duty” gas griddle, Vulcan model MGG24, which is to be installed in the kitchen of our new Korean Community Church building. Before we make a final order, we first would like to obtain your permission for installation of this particular gas griddle in our church kitchen.

Below we would like to summarize the features/specifications of this griddle and the proposed ventilation/fire-safety equipment for the griddle:

1. As you can see from the attached sheet, Vulcan MGG24 is a medium-duty griddle, having only 2 burners, each with 17,500 BTU capacity (total: 35,000 BTU = 17,500 BTU x 2 burners). This is one of the smallest BTU you can find with any type of gas griddles. It is also of a relatively small size, 24" x 25" x 17", ideal for our purpose. As you know, commercial gas griddles typically have well above 70,000 - 150,000 BTU but the griddle we have chosen here should be suitable for use in our Church.

2. We will use this griddle on average once a month – 12 times per year. This is very infrequent use: we need the griddle only when we cook for special church ceremonies and Christian holidays such as Easter and Christmas.

3. We will purchase and install K-Guard Kitchen Fire Extinguisher, a specialized kitchen fire safety equipment manufactured by ANSUL Co. (please review the features of this high-quality extinguisher as shown in the attached sheet). Given such a small BTU(35,000 BTUs total)/capacity of the griddle and our infrequent use of it (only about 12 times per year), this extinguisher should be sufficient to handle any fire hazard due to the griddle.

4. We also plan to install an over-sized 42" ventilation hood system, with 1600 cpm fan motor, to cover this 24" griddle (information on this range hood is also attached).
