Inspection을 위한 보완공사 진전 상황

최종 Inspection 과정에서 지적된 사항들을 수정하거나 새로 설치하는 작업이 순조로이 진행되어 많은 진전을 보았습니다 (자세한 내용은 U.Va.의 Project Manager인 David Coon씨에게 보낸 아래의 이메일을 참고하시기 바랍니다).

오늘은 또한 Albemarle County의 Health Department 담당자가 우리 교회 부엌 시설은 소위 상업용 "Food Preparation" Permit 받는 것을 면제해준다는 공식 서신을 County의 Plumbing Inspector에게 보냈습니다.  하나님께 감사드립니다.

앞으로 교회 건물 임시 사용 허가를 조속히 발급 받을 수있도록 계속 기도드립시다.

 As of today, we have corrected most of the minor items required by the inspectors and plan to have re-inspection done on the Electrical and Mechanical later this week (at least that's what our subcontractors promised).

For Plumbing inspection, we also made good progress and need a couple of more days of work to complete except for one - I have ordered a new toilet which has the water flush lever on the right side (not on the left side as usual), which is required for one of our handicapped toilet bathroom.  This is a special order so that it will take about 3 weeks for delivery.

For Building/Structure inspection, we have completed all except the two items that you also mentioned in your email below - Weep holes and the step issue out of the exterior door.

What our Church intends to do now is to apply for a temporary use permit of the building some time next week or so - we will have to hold our Revival and Dedication ceremonies in early and late April (we cannot change this schedule).  Of course, we will continue working on all items required to pass all re-inspection.

I talked briefly on the phone with Lisa Green yesterday.  She inspected the outside construction (plus zoning) last week and did not find any problem.  She said she would visit the site one or two more times this week (because some she did not see due to the snow coverage) but she expect that all should be OK.  Good news!

최종 Inspection 결과 보고

어제 저희 교회 입주허가를 위한 최종 Inspection 결과를 University of Virginia Manager들과 외부공사를 맡은 Parham Construction 담당자들, CAM President, Cynthia Finley 그리고  CAM 상환 Loan 을 신청한 SunTrust Bank 담당자들에게 보낸 이메일을 첨부합니다.  조속한 시일 내에 모든 부분을 마쳐서 입당할 수있도록 기도를 쉬지 맙시다.

RE: [Korean Church] Update on the status of final inspection                    

Hi All,

Albemarle County inspectors inspected our new Church building last Monday and Wednesday.  Unfortunately we did not pass the inspection.  I would like to summarize below the items the inspectors asked us to modify or install:

1.  Plumbing:  Should use open front seats for toilets;  No hot water heater turned on;  Caulking around the urinals and sinks;  Traps underneath the bathroom sink should be wrapped;  Water heater pan is required;  Secure the drainage pipes onto the floor;  Need to secure 3 compartment sink in kitchen;  Check with Health Department whether the church kitchen requires "Food Prep" sinks or not;  plus a couple of more minor items.

2.  Mechanical (HVAC etc.):  Use insulation on the pipes from the outside heat pumps;  Testing of the smoke detectors (the inspector will bring the magnetic testing device to complete his test).

3.  Electrical:  Install the emergency lighting system (16 lights at different locations inside the church building); Install one additional outlet in the utility room.

4.  Building/Structure:  Brick weep holes covered by grade;  Correct the step out of an exterior double-door downstairs (should be the same level as the inside floor with no step down);  Change to lever handles for the two metal fire doors;  Install new handrail on the left side of the stairs to the mezzanine area; plus a couple of more minor items.

As you may agree, the modifications, corrections or even new installation of the items as listed above do not represent any major construction work and indeed they are relatively minor.  I have informed our subcontractors about the inspection result and they have already begun working on them this week.  At this point, however, it's difficult for me to estimate when the work will be completed and re-inspection done.  But I will keep you posted on any progress and update you as necessary.

Regarding the inspection on the outside facilities plus zoning, Lisa Green, who is the zoning inspector of  Albemarle County, called me on Monday and requested Parham Construction staff to meet with her to go over the exterior construction.  I consulted with David Coon about this and he will oversee this inspection process.

최종 Inspection을 위해 기도합시다.

오랜동안 지연되어 오던 R.E. Boggs 회사의 Outside Heat Pump Unit 설치 공사가 오늘 완료되었습니다 (사진 참고).  전력을 Heat Pump Unit에 공급하는 전기 공사가 끝난 후 [지금 현재 금요일(2/14)에 계획되어 있으나, 일기예보처럼 눈이 많이 오면 지연될 가능성이 있기는 합니다] 교회 건물내의 냉난방 장치 전체를 가동하여 Test하는 절차가 아직 남아있습니다.
 
지난 주에는 Charlottesville시의 담당 직원으로부터 새 교회건물에 설치한 도시가스 시스템을 Inspection 받고 Pass 했다는 통보를 받았습니다.  지금 계획으로는 2월 24일 주 중에 Albemarle County의 최종 Inspection을 모두 함께 받을 예정입니다.  Inspection에 Pass하면 입주허가(Certificate of Occupancy)는 자동적으로 발급됩니다.
 
지난 10월부터 주문해온 교회의 가구 및 Area Rug등이 한 품목을 제외하고 모두 배달되었습니다.  또한 지난 달에는 1,2층에 Wi-Fi를 설치하여 (Comcast Cable) 교회 건물내 어디서나 Wireless Internet 접속이 가능하게 되었습니다 (사진 참고).
